Penrite Racing unveils new-look Mustangs for Bathurst 1000

Braeside-based Grove Racing has unveiled a bold new look for its two Penrite Ford Mustangs at this weekend’s Repco Bathurst 1000, as the team pursues its first win in the Great Race.

The Ford squad boasts a fascinating driver line-up that includes previous Bathurst winners David Reynolds and Garth Tander in Car 26, with Kiwi rookie Matt Payne joined by Bathurst rookie and French sports car star Kévin Estre in Car 19, making his Bathurst 1000 debut.

This weekend Supercars celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Bathurst 1000, first held as a 500-mile enduro in 1963.

It is also the first Bathurst 1000 for the new-for-2023 Gen3 Supercars, which made their public debut at the circuit last year.

Reynolds and Tander are two of the 11 former Bathurst 1000 winners entered in the 2023 Repco Bathurst 1000, with on-track action beginning on Thursday.
