Having just won his Class title at the One-Hour Carter’s Tyre Service South Island Endurance Series, Steve Scoles will now team up with Rowan Shepherd and Paul Blomqvist and Track Tec Racing for this weekend’s Highlands 6 Hour endurance race at the Highlands Motorsport Park in Cromwell.
Scoles races anything he can get his hands on, sprint cars, muscle cars and this summer will also compete in the GT New Zealand Championship in his Ginetta G56 GT4. Joining him is Toyota 86 Championship winner, Rowan Shepherd. Shepherd has international endurance racing in the 24H TCE Championship and the TCR Spa 500 and took out the Class B title in the 2020 South Island Endurance Series with Track Tec Racing.
The third driver in the lineup is Highlands Motorsport Park resident driver, Paul Blomqvist, sponsored by Armacup Racing for Cure Kids. Blomqvist has been at Highlands since 2020 having previously competed in the Swedish GT Series.
Track Tec Racing has been based at Highlands Motorsport Park since 2019 bringing international motorsport experience from around the world. The car will be engineered by Gerrard Rooney and the team overseen by Team Manager, Matt Waters.
“Great to be able to pull together this driver line up for the event at our home track where we’ve had success in endurance racing previously,” says Team Manager, Matt Waters.
