Clark one of 37 for US F4 opener

Young Kiwi driver Conrad Clark makes his Formula 4 debut at the opening round of the US F4 Championship this coming weekend with the Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport team.  He will be one of 37 drivers entered for the round at Virginia International Raceway.

The f4uschampionship.com website reports:

History will be made as the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda returns to Virginia International Raceway April 27-29 with a record-breaking 37 entries for the Andy Scriven Memorial Race weekend, shattering the previous 34-car record set in 2017. Last year during its 20-race season, the F4 U.S. field averaged 32 cars.

The 37-car grid is more diverse than ever before, comprised of 22 rookies and 15 returning F4 U.S. drivers, representing 12 states and 10 countries.

The Speedsport Scholarship winner Clark confirmed his 2018 drive with Garry Orton Kiwi Motorsport in February.   The fifteen-year-old drove for Sabre Motorsport in the Hi Q Components Formula First National Series finishing with rookie of the year and fourth overall.

The 2018 SpeedSport Star of Tomorrow Motor Racing Scholarship will also include a Formula 4 test in the US with Kiwi Motorsport (read here).  Kiwi Motorsport ran Southland driver Brendon Leitch (pictured above) in the 2017 US F4 Champs.
