Reigning Bathurst 1000 winners deliver Peter Brock Trophy to Mount Panorama

Repco Bathurst 1000 race week has officially arrived, as defending Repco Bathurst 1000 winners Shane van Gisbergen and Garth Tander delivered the famed Peter Brock Trophy to Mount Panorama on Tuesday.

The arrival to the Mountain signalled the end of the Peter Brock Trophy tour, which has seen the iconic silverware travel the country to numerous cities and towns which it had never previously visited.

Repco Supercars Championship teams began unloading today at Mount Panorama ahead of the 60th anniversary running of the Great Race, first held as a 500-mile enduro in 1963.

Van Gisbergen and Tander’s 2022 win was the pair’s second in three years, but they will be competing against each other this year following Tander’s defection to Grove Racing to drive alongside David Reynolds.

The whole 56-driver field will take part in Wednesday’s drivers’ parade and SuperFest in Bathurst CBD, before on-track action for the Repco Bathurst 1000 begins Thursday.
