Cassidy 7th in Super Formula Series opener

Kiwi driver Nick Cassidy has finished a credible seventh overall in the opening Super Formula Series race at the Suzuka Circuit over the weekend. The KONDO Racing driver qualified 15th and was able to work his way through the field throughout the 300km race.

“It was a tough race, but happy with my drive,” commented Cassidy. “I was able to make some nice overtakes and to manage my race. Now looking forward to fixing a few key issues to be able to challenge for more later in the season. Nice to collect some points!”

Naoki Yamamoto won his first race in Super Formula Series in two years, in a lights to flag victory! Yuhi Sekiguchi finished P2 and Tomoki Nojiri was P3.

The second (2/7) race of the season gets underway 12-13 May.
