Big crowds expected at Pukekohe farewell Supercars round

Organisers are expecting huge crowds at this weekend’s ITM Auckland SuperSprint at Pukekohe Park Raceway.

The 10th round of the Repco Supercars Championship, running Friday to Sunday, will be final time Supercars will race at Pukekohe Park, the spiritual home of motorsport in New Zealand, which will close to motorsport next April.

Supercars General Manager – Events, Phil Shaw said the response from New Zealand fans who haven’t seen Supercars on local shores since 2019 has been exceptional, with corporate hospitality and associated grandstands near full capacity.

“We advise anyone wishing to come to purchase tickets as soon as possible to ensure they can get in to farewell Supercars at Pukekohe this weekend,” Shaw said. “Fans need to plan their transport and allow for plenty of time to enter and exit the circuit each day.”

There is a reminder that trains only run as far as Papakura because of the electrification upgrade project. Buses provided from Papakura train station to the Pukekohe train station. It is an approximate 15-minute walk from there to the raceway.

There is no additional public parking available within the event precinct. Public parking will be available to purchase at the Pukekohe A&P Showgrounds at a cost of $20 per car.

It is a 15-20 min walk from the Pukekohe Showgrounds to the Pukekohe Park Raceway, along Subway Road and Manukau Road. Parking will be open from 7am on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September only.

Spectators who plan to park in local streets near the circuit are being urged to comply with any parking restrictions that may apply in that street.

Accessible car parking is located via Carpark A.

Ticket-holder need to show your disabled parking pass to be allocated a space closest to Gate 2A.

Accessible parking is allocated on a first- come, first-served basis as there is limited parking available, while the accessible parking drop-off area is outside Gate 2.
