Paddon and Hudson fifth in Rally Regione Piemonte

Hayden Paddon and Jared Hudson(Hyundai i20N Rally2) have finished fifth in the Rally Regione Piemonte, Italy, over the weekend. The event had the objective for Paddon to gain valuable tarmac experience and testing heading into a full Northern Hemisphere rally season.

“Had a good day testing and some valuable information gained for future tarmac events,” commented Paddon.  “A big thank you to Jared and the BRC team for an amazing job.”

The rally was decided on the last special stage which saw the current leader of the Italian Absolute Rally-Sparco Championship, Andrea Crugnola, and Pietro Elia Ometto (Citroen C3 Rally2) take out the win after engine problems dropped rally leader Stephane Lefebvre/Andy Malfoy (Citroen C3 Rally2) to third.

It was the fourth round of the 2023 TER – Tour European Rally which saw crews compete in two days of challenging vineyard-laden hill roads around the Langhe Roero Monferrato UNESCO World Heritage region.

Paddon has underlined his FIA European Rally Championship ERC) title intensions by confirming he will be heading to the Rally Islas Canarias (5-6 May) before returning to New Zealand for Rally Whangarei (12-14 May) and then to back to the Northern Hemisphere for Rally Poland (20-21 May).
