This week we have an in depth interview with the CEO and founder of Rodin Cars. Having established a successful computer business over many years, David Dicker has now turned his attention to building, at the moment, two very quick race cars.

The first is the Rodin Fzed, a single seater ‘creation’ from Dicker, developed for any race driver to buy as a track-day car without the need for a team to start and run it. Similar to a GP2 car, it is currently available now for purchasing.

The Rodin FZero

The second car, the Fzero, is currently under develop and will be faster than a Formula One car. As Dicker says, “The concept with the FZero is to create a car that’s quicker than a current Formula One… I wanted to build the lightest, most compact 4.0-litre 10-cylinder engine possible.”

What’s more, they are being designed, built and developed, right here in New Zealand. Have a listen to this Car Chat Podcast where Dicker explains how he got to where he is today, the philosophy behind Rodin Cars and some of the obstacles that he has had to tackle on the way.
