The third and final 2023 Carter’s Tyre service South Island Endurance Series round takes place at the Timaru International Raceway this Saturday where both Three and One-Hour overall and Class titles will be decided.

While Sam Fillmore and Jonny Reid (Audi R8 GT3) have won both the first two rounds in Christchurch and Invercargill, all their Class 1 (GT3) rivals have also finished both rounds and can also mathematically win both the overall and Class 1 titles.  Paul and Ant Pedersen (Mercedes AMG GT3) are just 14-points behind Fillmore and Reid with Steve Brooks (Audi R8 GT3) a further 11-points adrift with Hayden Knighton/Kane Lawson (Mercedes AMG GT3) in fourth place.

There are two separate One-Hour races to decide Classes 2&3 (GT Type and >3501cc) and Classes 4&5 (2001-3500cc and 1-2000cc) titles.

Matt Whittaker (Porsche GT3 Cup 992) has a one-point lead over Adam Julian (Audi R8 GT3) while Ayrton Hodson (Porsche GT3 Cup 991.1, Mana Malmezac (Porsche GT3 Cup 991.2MR) and Steve Brooks (Porsche GT3 Cup 992) all have a fighting chance of winning the overall and Class 2&3 titles.  The spoiler could be Jordan Michels (Marc II Mustang) who won the Invercargill round.  A retirement in the opening round has dented his chances but mathematically with a maximum of 95-points on the line, he is still in the race.

Rhys Gould (Hyundai i20N TCR) has won both the Class 4&5 rounds and will be hard to beat.  The fight now may be for the podium places with Barry Moore (VW Gold GTi TCR) and Pel Arnott (Hyundai i20N TCR) tied in second 18-points behind Gould, with Warren Black (Audi RS3 LMS TCR) in fourth.
