Liam Sceats has returned to Japan for the penultimate round of the 2023 Formula Regional Japanese Championship at the Fuji Circuit this weekend.
“I previously raced at Fuji for the first round of the championship, so it feels good to head into a race weekend where I have some previous knowledge and experience of the track,” commented Sceats. “As a team, it’s a track where we have made good progress with the car setup and balance.
“This is crucial at Fuji, because the Japanese drivers have done a lot of mileage and have good track knowledge so are all very fast, which I found out quickly at the first round.”
Sceats missed a pre-round test last weekend, “We still have plenty of work to do in the short space of two practice sessions on Friday in order to be competitive on Saturday.”
At the last round at Mobility Resort Motegi, he won the final race of the weekend having earlier finishing third and fourth, closing the gap to overall leader Sota Ogawa.
The Fuji schedule will see two practice sessions on Friday followed by two qualifying sessions and two 30- minute races on Saturday.
