Determined McLaughlin heads to Darwin

Scott McLaughlin is determined to get Volvo Polestar Racing back on top as V8 Supercars resumes in Darwin this weekend after a four-week break.

”I am very determined this weekend, we have done a lot of development work since Winton,” said McLaughlin.

The team faces a new challenge in Darwin as the Hidden Valley Raceway has got a new high-grip surface, a track that David Wall ranks as his favourite.

”I am really looking forward to Darwin, a bit of a favourite to me. The team has been flat out to try and make better before we get out there. They are pretty confident that they have been able to achieve that, so looking forward to get in the car and fine-tuning what we have,” said Wall.

After a first part of the 2015 season that has turned out to be tough for both Volvo drivers, McLaughlin is confident ahead of this weekend.

”I am very confident on what we had here last year and we have made the package even better now. Obviously everyone has gone a little bit better as well. But we need to make sure to stick to our guns and work on the right things, should be a good weekend all around,” said McLaughlin.

The V8 Supercars weekend in Darwin starts on Friday with practice, followed by qualifying and two races on Saturday. The weekend is finished with a final race of 70 laps on Sunday.
