Richie Stanaway confirmed alongside Matt Payne at Penrite Racing

Penrite Racing have announced that Richie Stanaway will complete their driver line-up for the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship season. Stanaway will join fellow Kiwi Matt Payne in what will be the second year of the Gen3 era. Stanaway replaces 38-year old David Reynolds who will leave the team at the end of the current season.

“I would like to thank Penrite Racing for the incredible opportunity to be a part of the team next year,” commented Stanaway. “I’ve been impressed by the direction the team has been heading in recent years and have been enjoying my time in the Gen3 era thus far so I am excited to see what we can achieve together.”

Setting his sights on the Supercars scene, Stanaway made his debut in the Supercars category in 2016 and won the Sandown 500 in 2017. More recently, he partnered with Greg Murphy in a 2022 wildcard entry for the Repco Bathurst 1000, qualifying an impressive fourth and finishing The Great Race just outside the top ten.

He will team up alongside three-time Supercars Champion Shane van Gisbergen as co-driver for the 2023 Supercars endurance rounds at Sandown and Bathurst.
